My knitting blog is now located at the Needle Exchange!

I apologize for all the Accordion Guy links

August 31st, 2003 at 1:20 am (Tales of the Swamp)

… But this is just too good. Perhaps it’s because I never got to enjoy Toronto; maybe it’s because I never got to enjoy TorCon. Maybe it’s because I never got to enjoy the delicious peanut butter cookies I burned yesterday. We’ll never know. What it boils down to is that I am linking to this post, and you can’t do squat about it because this is my blog. And I can link if I want to.

On a side note, the burned cookies were still not bad, despite their horrifyingly black exteriors.

Best line from last night

“I like to think of myself as homeless, but with a home.”

– Some guy at the Brass Pub, obviously destitute beyond all means.

Mash’s Long-Time Connection to Pornography Revealed!

August 29th, 2003 at 11:53 am (Tales of the Swamp)

I just ran a search for Elliot (missed the second ‘t’) Gould on the IMDB.

Did it suggest the correct spelling?

Did it give me other Elliots?

No.

It told me the most popular search with these keywords was Ron Jeremy.

Ron Jeremy, folks.

*claps for IMDB*

Incidentally, Ron Jeremy has been in over 740 movies. His very first? Jesus Christ, Superstar.

Last Mash Birthday of the Week!

August 29th, 2003 at 11:39 am (Tales of the Swamp)

Happy Birthday, Elliott Gould!

You were by far my most preferred version of Trapper. Wise-talkin’, mysterious at times, and constantly wearing a wacky hat. Surprisingly, you and not Donald Sutherland had the best line in the movie. “Don’t let him kiss you, Hawkeye.” and such. I enjoyed the bit with the gum, and of course the revelation of the olives was key.

All in all, a great character was made of Trapper by your wry wit and subtle acting. Cheers, Elliott Gould!

This is news?

Scientists find key to ocean bacterium that helps control greenhouse gas

Maybe not, but this certainly is:

Nanometer-sized particles change crystal structure when they get wet

Cool stuff.

“The discovery also could provide a way to tell whether pieces of rock from outer space came from planets with water.”

Sweet, no? Yes.
