Life Day Wrap-up
As I said before, I had a pretty neat-o Life Day. The highlights, in point form:
- Dogs
- I saw Mike Harris on Christmas Eve, shopping with his son
- I recovered from pink eye and got an ear infection the next day, and upon recovery from that I poured boiling water on my hand and had to wear a bandage for two days
- My aunt Liz and uncle Gord were over for Christmas, which was a lot of fun as they are hi-larious
- We drove up to Kingston on Boxing Day to celebrate with the other half of our Canadian relatives, and much hilarity was also had over there
- Because you can’t avoid materialism around Christmas, I will announce that I received a macro zoom lens for Christmas, and that it is awesome
- I also bought lots of stuff on Boxing Day, and now have like a kabillion new DVDs on top of the ones I received on Christmas Morn.
Clicking the More link will get you to a selection of pictures from the past week.

This is a log of some kind that my mom made. It’s based on a French recipe, but she replaced the filling with a German butter cream because nothing beats German butter cream.

My crippled hand after the first bandaging attempt. It looked better once we actually knew what we were doing. Yeah, I know, my nails are unclean. I didn’t think they were going to be photographed.

My cousin Emily and my brother Alex playing Halo 2

Emily’s twin sister Kelly, also playing. They were all very sedate. Even Alex, despite his PARTY TIME expression. Those devil-horns were a bitter ruse.

My mom, uncle Gord, aunt Cynthia and aunt Liz, preparing dinner while I sat around taking pictures and being an invalid.

Uncle Randy and my Dad, looking very mellow, but I promise there was nothing in the wine or the turkey, they just look like that.

Ms. Knibbles, whom I had just met, being very nervous.

Gord, trying to figure out what on earth the gift in his Christmas cracker was. I told them it was Nyarlathotep, but they didn’t believe me.

Really, guys, the likeness is uncanny.

More comparison and discussion ensued.

At this point I got kinda bored and started playing around, so there are lots of photos like this.

I can’t tell exactly which twin this is, but I’m pretty sure it’s Kelly. I kinda like the photo, but it was too long an exposure for Max’s wriggling, which is sad. I don’t like how my camera takes indoor photos.

Alex and Emily. I’m unsure what happened with this shot, but it’s fantastic.

Alex being obnoxious. His obnoxiousness elevates when he’s around the whole family.

Alex pretending to pick his nose.

Spalding makes bacon. Bacon and basketballs. This is a great combination. Do they make footballs as well? That would make sense. The pig flesh and the pig skin. I don’t know if this is humour or logic.

Forty-year-old candied flowers, once used by my grandmother to decorate birthday cakes. Still good, actually.

Aw. I wanted to take a picture of this rose for a while, but I kept forgetting. It started blooming beautifully by exam time. I think I caught it just after its peak.

Wool wool wool! I bought this on boxing day. It wasn’t on sale, it was just cool. I think I will use one of these to knit a tea cosy, but I haven’t made a plan for the others.

A cool toy from the crazy Asian import store I recently blogged about.
