Internet Dumping
I’m listening to the Khaki Snack CD right now. It’s awesome. It’s called “Quantity n ot QUality” and it has a picture of Derek Burpee on the cover holding a beer and looking goofy. Their most popular song, as many of you probably already know, is about being dumped on Christmas Eve over ICQ.
True story, I was humming the song in my head just now and my buddy Nick messaged me and was like, “my girlfriend just dumped me over MSN” and I was like, OMG. How times have changed.

Is it true that KS is playing somewhere in K-town this Friday night? If so, ohmygod, I’m so going.

ohmygosh, they’re playing on Friday, I think at Clark. Les and I are totally going, and I am so totally buying a CD.
Hopefully there will still be some left.

Turns out it’s Provan’s band, but the rest of the guys will be there.

Provan was Cam’s room-mate in first year, and Derek was on our floor. They’re good chaps.

We’re sort of playing, but not really. It’ll be us trying to figure our Village People and Vengaboys songs so that we can play them for Sci Formal people. But we’ll have cd’s, fresh from our Chinatown supplier. I’m glad you don’t hate it.
Also, I’d love to modernize it like Candle in the Wind, but it’s hard to rhyme MSN unless you’re dumped by someone named Glenn or Jenn. Same problem with “text messaging service”. But I love the prospects of breaking up by using emoticons.
Finally- Dear The Rev, my biggest regret is never convincing you to marry two people when they were drunk. Giggles and kisses, Derek
