Dammit

November 30th, 2005 at 8:19 pm (Tales of the Swamp)

I was up for over a Bauer (period of 24 hours) today unnecessarily, because I thought I had this huge project due but it turns out that it was extended. I went home at 3:30 today specifically so I could sleep for 2 hours before Golden Words, and left a huge message saying “Call Eve at 5:30″ because I knew I’d sleep through an alarm but wouldn’t sleep through a phone call. Then nobody called me and I missed a hugely important meeting and now I’m still really tired but not enough for me to be able to go to sleep at a regular hour because I just slept for a quarter of a day.

I am so tired.

A Hero Speaks

November 29th, 2005 at 2:14 pm (Hilarity, Politics)

This article about a Vietnam War Hero is funny for the following reason:

For almost two weeks, Day traveled by night and hid during the day to conserve his strength and avoid capture. He ate frogs and berries to keep going. Hallucinating and barely able to move his legs, he came to a knoll and looked down at a U.S. Army unit less than a mile away.

You will notice that they mention him eating frogs, and then mention him hallucinating but they do not connect the two ideas. I find this moderately hilarious.

My take on this kook [Jane Fonda] is that the father who rejected her, and the husbands who “dumped” her, had it just right. They knew what an empty bag that she was — just a little piece of trash.

The bottom line is that people will choose freedom and capitalism whenever they are given the free choice.

The guy’s a bit of a nutbar at times, but he’s not as crazy as most folks in that he hasn’t suggested raping or murdering leftists. Interesting tidbit: it’s only murder if you kill an American.

Also, :S

Nader in 2008!

November 22nd, 2005 at 5:28 pm (Current Events)

People have been getting to my site by searching for “nader 2008.” I don’t believe I’ve ever blogged about that, but it is an important issue that warrants a blog post and so I will give the public what it wants. What will Nader be doing in 2008? Will he be…

  • Hosting his own reality TV show?
  • Reading to the deaf?
  • Trying on slacks?
  • Punching kittens?
  • Learning American Sign Language?
  • Training to be an astronaut?
  • Taking apart his alarm clock?
  • Searching for buried treasure?
  • Doing Broadway?
  • Baking muffins?

Your thoughts.

BEE!There is a definite need for a knitting bee on Friday. I will be hosting such a bee at my home. I have lots of needles and lots of patterns, and I will start knitting at around 5pm. Perhaps a movie will be shown, or maybe some hip music will be played. All are welcome.

RSVP to my email.
