Back 2 Skool

There’s an Ask the Readers post at Lifehacker about how to get cheap textbooks. Aside from Project Gutenberg and now Google Book downloads, here are some sites that were mentioned:

(The general consensus is that things are cheaper online.)

In addition, here are some free Mac programs that could prove useful: iProcrastinate for organization and Transmission for Torrenting.

Any suggestions from the audience?

UPDATE, August 14th, 2007: I’m checking out Statistics by William Hays (ISBN 0030744679) right now and the most useful sites seem to be Big Words and CampusBooks, BestBookDeal. AddALL book search and Best Web Buys replicate what the other sites are doing but don’t have as long a list of comparison sites. The cheapest place I found for this $140 textbook was Half.com ($40) and eBay ($30).

Buy your $150 books from Pakistan for $20. They take forever to get here so do it now.
