HAPPY BIRTHDAY DONALD

July 18th, 2004 at 3:31 am (Tales of the Swamp, Arts & Culture, Burfday Wishes)

Happy Birthday.

I was going to wish you a happy birthday after work, but then it took a long time to close the store and I had to dash out again with Adrienne and Visto almost immediately after getting home.

Partying was fun, have no doubt. We painted the town red in your honour. We missed the jazz we were trying to catch, but we did go to Classic Video and rent erotic movies.

Gerard Depardieu was hot back in the ’70s. Also, Dolly Parton has a huge rack.

Today is Burt Metcalfe’s birthday.

This guy stuck with M*A*S*H for its entire run. Good on you, Burt.

Hey, IMDB says he’s Canadian. Cool.

Happy Birthday, Pappi!

March 1st, 2004 at 1:08 am (Nerdz0r3d, Burfday Wishes)

Check it out, my Dad looks like a hilariously grizzled explorer. He’s turning 50 today, so now he’s allowed to look like one.

Some cool things about my Dad:

  1. He can code in at least a dozen different programming languages

  2. He’s seen every single episode of Star Trek TOS at least 7 times
  3. He can’t rap for his life, but he still tries
  4. He still makes hilarious shotgun noises whenever I mention a boy, any boy, pretty much anyone male between 16 and 60
  5. He can do a Scottish accent really well, but everything else comes out Russian
  6. He might possibly be the nicest man you will ever meet.

Matter of fact, in honour of this occasion, I think I’ll pull out this little gem:

There are few more deserving of the Hawkeye salute. Happy Birthday, Pappi.

In the Presence of a Master

On Sunday, I will be attending a screenwriting workshop given by the man behind MVP 2: Most Vertical Primate.

Inothernews…

I desire tobacco-flavored ice cream made with liquid nitrogen and sardines on sorbet toast.

Happy Birthday, Larry Gelbart!

The Swamp Celebrates!

February 23rd, 2004 at 8:41 am (This Blog is Self-Referential, Burfday Wishes)

It is the birthday of two very important folks today.

  1. My compatriot Brian is now 21. Salut, Brian! I’ll be joining you shortly!

  2. The Swamp is 3 years young today. I blogged for the very first time on February 23rd, 2001. Somebody set up us the bomb!

Happy Birthday, both!
