I was reading this post today and it reminded me of Brothers of Metal by Manowar. I then proceeded to listen to it 3 or 4 times and played some frickin’ awesome air guitar, if I do say so myself.
Strike while the iron is hot!
Steel is strongest, so say we all!
And if we all were not brothers of metal, would we fall? NO!
They tried to test our spirit!
They tasted steel before we were done!
Grinding their bones into the dust of the past!
All blown away like a shot from a gun!
Eve delivered a presentation today for approximate 1.5 hours instead of 20 minutes because the other presenter called in sick and she had to fill time. Oops! Eve is also done a stats project, has almost finished her data collection back-end rewrite and is now certified in the use of fNIRS equipment. Eve is watching Naruto.
I just checked my email and I had three successive heart attacks.
I got an email about ethics, grading and “your honours thesis” and I was like omg, my masters isn’t ethical and I’ve somehow missed a grading deadline I didn’t know about and for some reason my honours thesis is broken! AUGH!
But the ethics email was to notify me of approval (SHAZAM!), the prof was just asking if I could send her the grades whenever I finish them (no rush, phew) and someone wants to read my honours thesis. Fantastic! I’m still allowed in UofT and I still have my bachelors. Everything is right with the world. Except that I’m on episode 5 of Project Runway and my favourite was just cut Sigh.
I tried to convince my brother that Bluegrass was cool, and I found a band called Iron Horse. My brother is a big Metallica fan, so he justified his love of this music by the fact that Metallica was awesome and so a Bluegrass version would hence also be awesome. Battle wasn’t entirely won, but I think the style may be growing on him.
Side Note: They also have a tribute to The Shins and Modest Mouse. Wacky, but really well done.
